Beuys himself said "Every man is an artist", and The Artist Dining Room offers lucky East Londoners the chance to embrace their artistic side at their indulgent and deliciously trendy, cultural evening.
The Artist Dining Room open their doors again on Friday 4 December at 7.00pm, for a feast for the imagination as well as the palate. Guests will have the chance to peruse the Guest Projects late-night exhibitions as they embark on a journey uncovering the life and work of Beuys through sound and a collaboration with one of Beuys’s own students, Louwrien Wijers. Thereafter, chef cousins Olivia and Daisy will serve up a range of dishes inspired by Beuys’s own use of food as artistic material.
Joseph Beuys (1921-86): Joseph Beuys established himself as a major artist in post-war Germany. Keenly interested in human culture and its environment, Beuys made use of an extensive range of highly symbolic mediums, from sculpting to installation and graphics, as well as performing in his own art pieces. Forever pushing boundaries, Joseph Beuys' work is nothing short of revolutionary.
Tickets cost £36.50, or £31 for students, who receive a 15% discount. The evening is being held on Regent’s Canal in the Guest Projects space: the initiative conceived by artist Yinka Shonibare. Art and food collide, then, at one of the top restaurants in London in terms of innovation, as the Joseph Beuys supper club creates an alternative universe and artists' playground.
