Teeming with practical advice for both novice and experienced wine lovers, these exclusive events will be led by Emily Harman, previously sommelier at River Café and The Zetter Group. Guests are invited to explore a range of artisanal Italian wines selected from Harman’s lists for Pastifico and Café Murano and, on some evenings, get the opportunity to meet some of Harman's favourite small-scale winemakers, who will be on hand to give their own personal reflections on their wines and their trade.
On 19 October comes an event suitable for novices, an introduction to matching Italian wine and cheese, where Harman will instruct guests on how to pair different Italian wines and cheeses as well as offering suggestions about particular pairings for specific occasions. Next up, on 27 October, Italian winemaker Giuseppe of Ferrua producer of organic and biodynamic wines for Tuscan winery Fabbrica di San Martino, will guide guests through an exclusive wine tasting.
Then on 24 November comes an evening with Fillipo Rizzo of Lamoresca, whose organic, unique, and vibrant wines come from the unusual setting of interior Sicily's secluded hills. Finally, on 9 December Harman will share her expertise in Italian sparkling wine just in time for Christmas celebrations, guiding a range of tastings from Prosecco to Franciacorta.
Bottles may be purchased after the events at a 10% discount, and the evenings should provide a unique opportunity to learn about the trade from some of Italy's most distinguished experts.
