New tapas bar, London: Jose Pizarro, Broadgate Circle
Anyone looking for tapas restaurants near Liverpool Street need look no further than Broadgate Circle's latest addition.
Acclaimed Spanish chef and food writer Jose Pizarro opens his third London venture – and it's definitely a competitor for one of the best restaurants near Barbican, housed in the recently redeveloped Broadgate Circle.
Following the award-winning success of his first two (creatively named José and Pizarro), which stand near each other on Bermondsey Street, Jose Pizarro's new restaurant in Broadgate Circle aims to create an all-day dining atmosphere, opening for authentic Spanish breakfast (think sobrasadas and jamon Iberico, as well as omelettes and patatas fritas) right through to dinner and drinks, with a terrace dining space ready for the onset of summer.

So what can we expect from this new venture? Besides breakfast service, lunch and dinner will be focused on bright and modern adaptations of classic Spanish fare, from prawn buñuelos with saffron aioli to lamb with artichokes and Romesco.
Fish is well represented, with turbot a la plancha and home cured cod, but vegetarians will find it tough going, with much of the menu centred on top quality Iberian meats - the charcuterie selection or cecina with pomegranate are aimed squarely at the after work, drinks-on-the-terrace crowd.
A simple dessert selection rounds out the menu, which offers a small and large plate selection. So if you're after tapas near Liverpool Street, we'd definitely recommend giving this one a try – Pizarro has a growing reputation for opening some of the best Spanish restaurants in London.
