Krug Champagne will continue its recent line of 'Champagne and…” ventures in partnership with Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers in Covent Garden in July.
A chip shop menu with a difference
The humble potato chip, maligned and venerated in equal measure, will serve as the inspiration for Krug & Chips, a four day feast of innovative combinations including monkfish curry with matchstick fries and fish in chips, a potato ravioli dish with tartare sauce. Krug & Chips will set up in Covent Garden’s East Piazza, and food will be served to a collection of cosy dining ‘pods’ themselves inspired by the classic British chippy. For £35, a choice of dishes will be accompanied by a glass of Krug Grande Cuvée.
Chef Tom Sellers: Story
Noma-trained Sellers opened his first venture, the acclaimed Michelin restaurant, London Restaurant Story, in 2013. Story serves as the figurehead for his techniques of ‘narrative gastronomy’, which look to tell the tale of every ingredient and inspiration through tasting menus constructed from classic British dishes and locally-sourced produce.
Bringing this approach to bear on fish and chips, one of the country’s most loved and storied institutions, is sure to produce exciting results: looking to be one of the best champagne bars London has to offer this summer.

The Krug & Chips pop up London follows the company’s venture into crepes (with Pierre Koffman’s Krug Kreperie) and this year’s Krug & Krustacean on the Southbank, opened in conjunction with Mayfair’s premier crab shack Beast, and is testament to their ambition to leave no stone unturned finding the perfect compliment for their fizz.
