A second branch of Gordon Ramsay's Mayfair steakhouse Maze Grill has just opened up on Chelsea's Park Walk.
Taking its name, if not its creative lead, from Maze, a Michelin-starred corner of the Ramsay empire serving up vogueish small plates, Maze Grill looked instead to New York for inspiration, mimicking the grill-rooms of Manhattan and aiming for uncompromising quality in its meat selection. Now, Maze Grill Park Walk looks to add high-class sushi and sashimi (from their 'dedicated raw bar') to the line-up.
The space is a typically classy affair, all copper fixtures, subtle brickwork and polished wood, with booth seating in oxblood and lime green. When summer sets in for good, you'll be able to sit out along leafy Park Walk too.
Positioning itself as a versatile all-day brasserie, the Maze Grill Park Walk menu is comprehensive. The speciality grill selection is broad, with steaks ranging from reasonably-priced British and Rare breeds (all aged for at least three weeks) through to grain-fed USDA joints selling by the ounce. Plenty is made of their steak credentials, so expect only the best. A well-priced sushi line-up mixes the classic (California Roll) and the innovative (salmon with nashi pear, chilli and ponzu), while salads, classic sharers and sides and a selection of simple mains like the short rib burger or orechiette with broccoli and lemon maintains a broad appeal.
Of course, there are daily specials to consider too, a Sunday roast every week, and they're open for brunch on weekends from 10am. Expect it to stay busy, and book a table here.
