Those living south of the river will probably be familiar with Bunga Bunga, the best Berlusconi-themed karaoke bar in town. Even if you haven’t been, you’re sure to have heard the stories—where only the brave get up to sing to the crowd (and face the threat of the DJ kicking you off) and the cocktails are served in mini versions of the Tower of Pisa or the Coliseum.
The pizzas are renowned, the drinks are strong and the atmosphere is just what you might expect of a bar named after disgraced Italian ex-prime minister Silvio Berlusconi’s infamous parties.
And, every Wednesday for the rest of the month, Bunga Bunga is serving up its own version of “five-a-day”. For £20 you’ll get a glass of prosecco, bruschetta, a glass of house wine, a margarita pizza and a bowl of gelato—that’s a pretty good deal in our book, and what better way to celebrate making it to the middle of the week?
The offer comes with a warning, though—guests are expected to get up and shake their thing and actively encouraged to try out their vocal skills. We recommend a Pavarotti’s Punch—an intoxicating combination of Bacardi Oakheart, cherry Marnier, mulled spiced syrup, lime juice and raspberries—to get you in the mood!
Bunga Bunga’s Five-a-Day is open every Wednesday in January, so get down there quick! Alternatively, you can enjoy the Italian frivolity any other day apart from Mondays, but if you’re heading over on a weekend (when it’s open until 2am) either book a table at the pizzeria or get there early to avoid the queues!
