The team behind the highly-rated Bravas Tapas are back with one of their typically unusual restaurants. In London's St Katherine's docks nearby a new fusion restaurant is catching the attention of foodies all over the capital. After venturing into Nikkei, the amalgam of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine that's been making waves in London recently, the Bravas team are now looking to branch out into local delivery and top-quality takeout, and the result is Amaru, which opened just this week.
Amaru (a word with meaning in Peruvian, 'fertility' and in Japanese, 'abundance') will be styled after a Japanese 'izakaya' eatery, and co-owner Bal Thind (original investor in Hakkasan, amongst others) hopes to establish a high-quality but affordable takeaway, centred on signature dishes such as prawn ceviche with coconut and mango and sesame crusted tuna with avocado and truffle.
Besides these, sushi, sashimi and a great selection of desserts are on offer (green tea tiramisu sounds enticing). So if you're looking for great restaurants in London to try something different, venture no further than Amaru's stylish new home.
