Enjoy a kitsch slice of summer at a new pop-up kitchen, London, with The Garden Gate: Oxo Tower's latest themed pop-up at the OXO2 events space
Transport yourself to a little corner of suburbia within central London with The Garden Gate pop-up kitchen at OXO2 this summer.
Returning after a successful showing last year, The Garden Gate offers patrons a dining experience in a surreal and kitsch summery world set among twee garden gnomes and evergreen artificial grass carpets.
Indulge in cocktails served from watering cans as you sit in a deckchair surrounded by garden-inspired decoration.
Food consists of a casual summer dining menu, while if you need some respite from eating and drinking you can get involved in summer party games including ping pong and giant jenga.
The pop-up promises to be a relaxed and chilled-out experience, perfectly capturing the aimless relaxation of a real, lazy summer afternoon.
The Garden Gate is found at OXO2 in the iconic OXO Tower building on the South Bank. OXO2 is a contemporary events space on the tower’s second floor offering panoramic views across the river Thames- exactly the sort of vista you want to see while chilling in a deck chair and pouring cocktails from a watering can.
For the keen gardeners among you, if you arrive with your own garden gnome you can exchange it at the bar for a drink; your diminutive friend will then join the motley crew of other gnomes relaxing by the pond while you and the rest of the big people enjoy the food and drink.
Admission is free for gnomes and humans alike; charming pop-up is open 5pm-11pm from Monday to Wednesday, 12pm-11.30pm Thursday to Saturday, and 12pm-10.30pm on Sundays
