In Backdoor Kitchen, Brixton offers the best of the highly successful Italian food concept Backdoor supper club. Italian tapas and aperitivos abound in Brixton Market until July
If summertime Negronis and beautiful Italian dishes are what you’re after, pay a visit to Backdoor Kitchen’s latest pop-up, Backdoor Brixton. It ends on 26 July, so you’ve still got time to sneak into one of the last sessions, and what could be a better way of spending a summer’s evening?
Cokctails with Aperol Spritz London
Backdoor Brixton has teamed up with the iconic Italian brand Aperol Spritz and is offering walk-in sessions with cicchetti dishes (the Italian version of tapas), such as chickpea burgers with Sicilian honey, washed down with brand new cocktails from the Campari bar. The food fights over Negronis start from 5.30pm, and you can reserve a table for that by emailing the team.
Iberico pulled pork cheeks
But if you’re looking for something more substantial, you can book onto a four-course dinner, what they describe as their Apridinner—Aperitivo plus dinner. The menu changes depending on what’s available, but some tasters include deep-fried vegetables with a caper and anchovy mayonnaise and octopus bruschetta with saffron alilo, oregano and paprika on a bed of cabbage. And we think the broad bean salad with chorizo, mussels and clams and pulled Iberico pork cheeks marinated in Mediterranean herbs sound just delicious! Plus, you also get a ‘secret dessert’, which sounds like the most exciting thing to finish a fantastic meal.
On the drinks front, expect Prosecco, Campari and spiced rum cocktails.
Backdoor Brixton will be open from 5.30pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday of alternate weeks beginning 26 June.
