Q-Grill's roof-top venue is open until the end of September
Yet another name can be added this month to the ever-lengthening list of London’s roof-top venues, as Q-Grill opens On The Roof With Q on the top of Selfridges for eighteen weeks over the summer. Designed by Alexander Waterworth Interiors and inspired by a grand Victorian greenhouse, the roof area of this department store giant has been transformed into a glorious garden, adorned with tables and chairs (along with a not-so-Victorian retractable roof in order to safeguard against the typical British summer downpours).
The all-day menu, oriented around summer produce, offers a selection of meat and fish dishes, which are either smoked, charcoal-grilled or served raw. A selection of afternoon teas can be enjoyed after lunch, which include scones and cream, pastries and finger sandwiches, while a candlelit terrace area is revealed for the dinner service. There’s even a pop-up juice bar from the New York health brand, The Juicery, which destroys any remaining excuses to ever leave. If all this wasn’t more than enough to tempt you down town, a variety of talks and events, held by internationally acclaimed chefs and industry icons, are also hosted in this dizzying space.
