London has mastered the supperclub, fine dining, street food and the burger joint, yet when it comes to Sunday lunch, we are still searching for the perfect place to tuck into a traditional roast dinner. Luckily for us, award-winning Bacchus Sundays has launched a new weekly residency at Hoxton Street Studios, every Sunday from 1pm – 8pm, answering all of our lazy Sunday needs.
Founder of Bacchus Sundays, Jon Bourke, has crafted the ultimate day of rest and indulgence by combining all of the amazing things about Sundays - relaxing and indulging in booze and comfort food – with the promise of unpretentious and friendly service, and a modest price list.
Expect to be served a traditional English roast dinner cooked to perfection, and washed down with many Bloody Marys. Meat lovers will delight in devouring the 12-hour slow roasted sirloin of angus beef with yorkshire pudding. For vegetarians, try the nut roast with mushroom gravy. Undecided? Well there’s an option for the fickle, mixing the tastiest bits of the menu for one mammoth meal. All are served with a mouth-watering range of vegetables: roasted beetroot, glazed carrot, shredded cabbage, roasted potatoes and lashings of gravy.
A roast course costs £15, and two courses £20. But we recommend you go all out and get the three-course option for £25, because the smoked salmon starter and the ‘Ferrero Rocher’ cheesecake for desert are too tasty to miss.
