Bompas & Parr, purveyors of extraordinary culinary experiences (remember the fruity boating lake at Kew last summer?) has teamed up with the Andaz Hotel to offer guests a nostalgia feast of archive delights.
With inspiration trawled from the ages – think grand banquets held on board HMS Victory, to a menu created by British prisoners of war for their Christmas dinner in 1944 or delights on offer in the First Class cabin of British Airways, the jelly boys have edited the selection to celebrate the best of British, served at the Andaz on May 28 in a wacky dining blow out. If you can’t make the dinner, check out the exhibition of weird and wonderful British menus, on show until June 30.
