For twenty days, aromas of authentic Indian street food will flood the Southbank as street food traders, Horn OK Please, set up shop opposite the Undercroft skateboard park.
As part of the Alchemy Festival, which celebrates the various different elements of South Asian culture, some of the most adored street food dishes from the subcontinent will be offered up to visitors. Having traded for three years as a Borough Market regular, Horn Ok Please was originally established to dispel the entrenched myth that the core components of Indian food are curry, rice and naan.
Their mission is to explore forgotten yet delicious dishes, such as Bhel Puri (a mix of puffed rice, vegetables and tamarind sauce), and Pav Bhaki (a mixture of spiced vegetables and fresh tomatoes, served with warm bread). The menu is entirely vegetarian and mostly gluten free. Indian beers and soft drinks will also be available.
