Those left-field gourmands at Robin Collective have dreamt up a curious experiment. Biteable Botany is set to take over Drink, Shop & Do in King’s Cross, where guests will be guided in the art of edible garden-scapes, sculpted from crushed biscuits and cake inside a glass terrarium. Coconut grass, candied rosemary and marzipan worms can be added as extra agricultural features.
Headed by Robin Fegen and Brandy Wright, who met while working for jelly-mongers, Bompas and Parr, The Robin Collective is a group of talented designers, artists, chefs and photographers, whose collaboration produces experiential, yet truly bizarre, pop-ups.
Past endeavours have ranged from the construction of a human-size beehive, in order to draw attention to the decline of the honey bee, to a Marshmallow Apothecary. After receiving a consultation and a herbal remedy-flavoured, marshmallow prescription, visitors relaxed on giant marshmallow pillows with a marshmallow cocktail in hand. Truly surreal.
