The site has been designed by Sundae Design Studio in the former home of The Commander bar, modelling their work on Hockney's 1970's Malibu period for inspiration.
On the menu, think outside the box with dishes like Shredded Kimchi and Lardo Toast, Kumototo/Blue Point Oysters and, an all-day staple, Sweet Potato Toast with Avocado, Labneh, Lime and Cilantro Gremolata. We're not sure what that is exactly, which only motivates us more to head down there. For a little something sweet, try the Caramel Croissant and Prune Pie with Crème Anglais.
Chef Gareth Sanderson, formerly at Druskos Namai Salt House (a top Vilnius haunt) and Le Butcher Group, has come back to London after taking inspiration from his West Coast travels to LA and San Francisco, so we're sure it's all well researched.
The American bar is under the thumb of Kestutis Stirba, previously Head Bartender at Gordon Ramsey Restaurants, The Sanderson and The Electric. We expect big things from his Cali-cocktails.
Sounds delicious, sounds intriguing, sounds oh-so LA.
