Street Feast: Dalston Yard
Street Feast's annual residency at hip 'n' happening Dalston Yard is a highlight of London summer. Every weekend until September this East London spot is transformed into a ‘roving street food circus’.
Sun, food, booze and music: the atmosphere
With the food hawkers, live DJ sets, cocktail bars, sun-soaked picnic tables and candlelit enclaves, Streetfeast has quickly become Londoners' favourite spot to indulge and celebrate sunny weekends. No longer just the stomping ground of trendy East London locals, it attracts hungry crowds from across the city - and is well worth the trek. Turn up early for a laid-back, family friendly vibe and the chance to nab a sought-after table in the sun; stay late for dancing, cocktails and magnificent midnight feasts.
The food: Street Feast stalls, 2015
With an ever-changing line-up of 20 traders, featuring London's rising star chefs, old favourites, and every type of cuisine you could imagine, a trip to Streetfeast is a gastronomic adventure. Best of all with bite-sized finger-food-fare there's no need to pick a single street food treat: expect to start on sizzling tacos, cool down with a tequila slushy and tuck into indulgent lobster mac 'n' cheese before making space for some artisan ice cream.
Whatever your tastes, there's something to tempt. We love Japanese-inspired steamed buns from Yum Bun (try the duck with champagne slaw), the crab tortilla from Breddos Tacos and Bleecker Burger's juicy patties with a side of red hot 'angry fries'.
Quench your thirst with cocktails from Gin Store (the fresh, fiery and deceptively strong Floradora our favourite). For some decent grapes head to Street Vin and then climb up to the Tequila Treehouse to party the night away with pina coladas like you've never tasted before.
