The Red Ladies are one of the most successful and long-lived productions of the award-winning performance company Clod Ensemble. In its nearly 20 years of life. it has toured both in the UK and internationally and been seen in sites as diverse as Westminster, Trafalgar Square, London’s Southbank, Warwick, Oxford, Porto and the beaches of Margate.
So what will The Red Ladies' performance consist of? Their base will be the Raphael Gallery, which will provide the stage for reassembled fragments of their non-narrative performances. They have a series of ensemble shows in timed slots throughout the day; but there will also be spontaneous, untimed 'solo missions'.
Expect absurdity; but be warned: whatever you may expect, the Red Ladies would like to reassure you that is definitely not what they will be doing. So, throw off your preconceptions and make your way to the V&A this spring for a show like no other, where you may well find yourself being watched even as you watch the performers...
