Bella Freud is a Culture Whisper favourite. She may only have a few stockists and a small collection of trademark sweaters, but her wobbly writing is instantly recognisable, her logo-ed clothing saying everything from 'Ginsberg is God' to '1970'. These are cult pieces, bought by those in the know.
J Brand, on the other hand, is the go-to label for denim solutions. Their trousers are cut exceptionally, wonderfully soft and are worn by everyone from savvy forty-somethings to their savvier daughters. Theirs was the khaki Houlihan cargo pant everyone wanted in the late noughties. Founded in California in 2004, J Brand proved no one quite knows denim like the Americans.
Available from the upcoming collection
Bella Freud's collaboration with J Brand features a range of denim jackets, jeans, jumpsuits, sweaters and t-shirts. To say that both brands are on the side of casual when it comes to their designs is a bit of an understatement, so it's no surprise that denim and cotton are high on the agenda.
A glimpse at the collab
This will be the second fashion collaboration Freud's label has taken part in, after Fred Perry. It will be available in store and online. Visit jbrandjeans.com and bellafreud.com and sign up for updates.
