Vogue shopping event, Burlington Arcade

After a glossy exhibition and a star-studded festival, how else do you celebrate the 100th year of a British fashion institution? Shopping, of course.

As part of this year's centenary celebrations Vogue are taking over the most elegant shopping spot in London for an evening of luxury brands, champagne and retail therapy. And, as a Culture Whisper reader, you get the chance to enjoy very fashionable birthday party.

Our members are invited to browse the brands on Burlington Arcade from 6:30pm to 9:30pm on Wednesday 8 June, when the shops are closed to the public and whole space is decorated for the occasion. A showcase of iconic Vogue covers will cover the aisles, foodies Berry Bros & Rudd will serve up signature cocktails, Peardrop London will be providing canapés and each store will offer exclusive discounts and artisanal demonstrations.

In honour of this momentous birthday, each brand is offering guests a special present — ranging from Chanel fragrance workshops to shoes signed by Manolo Blahnik.

Head to our favourite milliners, Maison Michel, where you will be welcomed with a glass of champagne and a whole host of tempting offers to help you keep ahead of the trends.

As part of the celebrations, the Parisian fashion house will be treating customers to an exclusive surprise gift with the purchase of any hat from the full collection — just in time for Royal Ascot and summer weddings!

For those that don't know their fascinators from fedoras, the expert Maison Michel creative team and style advisers will be on hand to offer advice on the most flattering designs.

And, best of all, Maison Michel are holding a special prize draw, giving three lucky shoppers the chance to win a hat or headband. All you need to do is go to the store, fill in a form and cross your fingers.
