Rihanna & LVMH confirm fashion label Fenty Maison
The pop superstar will present her first Fenty Maison collection for the French luxury group in Paris this May
And with this move, Rihanna makes history. She is to be the first women to create an original brand at LVMH and the first woman of colour at the top of an LVMH maison.
Rihanna will show her first collection for the new label, which will be branded Fenty, on May 22 in Paris. It includes ready-to-wear, accessories, sunglasses, jewellery and shoes, and will be the first fashion brand launched from scratch by LVMH since Christian Lacroix was founded in 1987.
Rihanna told Business of Fashion, 'Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us. Mr Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits. I couldn’t imagine a better partner both creatively and business-wise, and I’m ready for the world to see what we have built together.'
