Timur Kim designs
“Denim is a very humble fabric… I see the possibilities,” said London-based Russian/Korean designer Timur Kim in his interview with Culture Whisper last year.
And so it's no surprise that the SS15 collection, on sale in East London this month, draws heavily on this “underused” fabric. Pastel blue denim is used liberally, interspersed with angular, cubist slabs of bright summer colours that cut across the fabric as it falls girlishly from the waist.
London fashion pop-up
Kim’s star is on the rise and this event is just another step to his becoming a headliner designer. He follows many of the now-famous who held pop-up shops in East London’s Hackney Shop, including House of Holland, Markus Lupfer, Roksanda and Jonathan Saunders.
The SS15 collection, samples from the brand’s previous seasons and its archive will be up for grabs at this sample sale. Prices start at £25 and on the Thursday evening Timur Kim will host a drinks reception, giving local customers and industry press a chance to meet with the designer and see his collections in person.
