Be sure to catch Louis Vuitton's first pop-up boutique at Dover Street Market before it disappears on the 14th October in characteristic DSM style (DSM's biannual New Beginning process sees the store completely replenished and re-done).
The temporary space is showcasing a beautifully curated edit of Nicholas Ghesquière's debut A/W14 womenswear collection for the luxury brand from mid-August until mid-October, plus a smattering of eye-catching runway accessories, including sunglasses, jewellery, bags, and shoes.
At the same time Louis Vuitton are taking over Dover Street Market's corner window to front a sensational display from 1st to the 15th September, perfectly coinciding with London Fashion Week and the department store's grand tenth anniversary celebrations.
And as a tribute to DSM - the brain child of Rei Kawakubo, founder of Comme des Garçons - on this momentous anniversary, it is worth noting its value as a trailblazing retail concept. Displaying luxury fashion brands alongside Comme des Garçons' own lines, as DSM played with interaction between small designers and established fashion powerhouses, was virtually unheard of at the time of its conception. Not to mention its New Beginnings philosophy, aka 'tachiagri' (a literal translation), wherein the store is closed down for days and reinvented to keep everything fresh and authentic.
And in addition to various exciting in-store events, a specially created collection of 10th anniversary products are also on sale which on market stalls situated throughout the building, with many of the store's designers will be selling one off products, including Simone Rocha and Giambattista Valli.
