Links of London has a new creative director
London fashion favourite Dominic Jones has a new job
Fans of fine jewellery will know Jones from his work as creative director of Astley Clarke as well as the eponymous line he debuted in 2009 with 'Tooth and Nail', a collection which won the acclaim of Anna Wintour and made the industry take notice.
A graduate of Sir John Cass School of Art and Design, Jones' own-brand designs are a punkish riff on the wonders of nature and have been worn by Beyoncé, Rihanna and Florence Welch. He will be bringing that aesthetic and influence to his work at Links of London with his first full collection which will launch in September.
But he appears to have been breathing new life into the brand already, as three new season collections - Orbs, Wholehearted and Wildlife - attest to his influence.
Pictured here is the Orbs collection, as modeled by Elfie Reigate in a beautiful campaign shot on location at Kew Gardens.
Crafted from freshwater pearls and sterling silver, the pieces range from delicate drop pendants and chokers to more solid signet-style rings. Beautiful and timeless, they'd make an elegant addition to a bridal look but aren't too precious to wear everyday either.
'I’m honoured to have the opportunity to work for this iconic British brand at such an exciting time.’ Jones said of his appointment, 'My goal is to create beautiful and timeless pieces that capture the feeling of today; pieces that carry an intrinsic strength and combine the boldness and desire for personal expression that men and women have today.'
The Orbs collection is available to buy now, prices start from £80.
