Dream holiday suitcase: the ultimate holiday capsule wardrobe
It's that time of the year when many of us are heading off (or dreaming of heading off) on our summer holidays. I am looking at an empty suitcase, ready to pack for a couple of weeks first in Provence and then to Sicily.
My priority is to ensure I wear everything I put in my suitcase. I have learned through the years that there is no point lugging high heels and too many glamorous outfits, yet it is important to be able to bring some chic into the mix.
When I head to the Aeolian islands, most of my time is spent swimming in the sea or riding a gommone (dinghy). This means I wear flip-flops, bikinis, sarongs and big hats all day. But then there is the required evening outfit: elegant for aperitivo, cool for parties.
Sun protection is key, and so are good hair products, clever make-up and a good piece of jewellery. Last but not least, well-chosen summer reads.
My dream suitcase includes some 2023 summer fashion must-haves, skincare I trust and some light reads to clear my mind.
