We defy you to find a comedy night that’s more consistently high-quality than the Invisible Dot’s Saturday Night Show. With three of the industry’s best taking to its small-but-perfectly-formed stage each week, including alternative comedy A-Listers Bridget Christie, Josie Long, Sara Pascoe, Kevin Eldon and Liam Williams in the next few weeks, this should be a mainstay your comedy diary.
Touting their Saturday night wares on 22 February is a line-up of four of our absolute favourites. Strapped to the show’s masthead is hotly-vaunted observationalist Josh Widdicombe – one of the most sought-after acts of the moment and regular star of Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats, as well as BBC1’s Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo. And if that hasn’t impressed you, he also won this year’s Celebrity Mastermind!
Thrusting themselves into the spotlight for parts two and three are the deadpan Norwegian commenter Daniel Simonsen, who was named Edinburgh’s Best Newcomer in 2012 and bears the pedigree of having toured with cheeky existentialist Simon Amstell; and talk-of-the-town absurdist John Kearns, who inherited the Best Newcomer mantle in 2013 and comes to the Dot fresh from his rave-reviewed Sight Gags for Perverts show at the Soho Theatre.
3 greats all rolled into one – what a way to spend a Saturday.
