Clerkenwell is already our favourite spot for design inspiration in the big smoke, but now the stylish area is getting a new concept store that really cements its position.
New Clerkenwell Design shops
Clerkenwell London is an all-singing, all-dancing 'concept store' with furniture, fashion, perfume and jewellery. With a lovely blend of contemporary and vintage products, there is innovation and fine craftsmanship on offer. This new store nurtures the talents that already exist in Clerkenwell and give them a platform to display their work.
Designers featured include tableware by Ewelina Wisniosvka and ornamental glassware by Dechem. We are particularly intrigued by the Synesthesia on-site perfumery where visitors can make their own fragrance. There's also an in-house tailor to make purchases completely bespoke.
There's even a restaurant, wine library, spa and event space to boot, that make this more than a shopping destination. Events, classes and tastings are constantly on the calendar and worth trying out.
Clerkenwell London is the brainchild of the tailor and owner of Ve Interactive tech company David J Brown and feels a little like Willy Wonka's factory filled with surprises at every turn. If you're looking for things to do in London this is an essential stopover.
