The Design Museum is normally our first port of call during the LDF where special exhibitions, events and installations take over to celebrate incredible new stars and the classic motifs.
Designers in Residence
The Designers in Residence show is a delightful start to proceedings, with four emerging talents taking over a gallery space to discuss the idea of 'Migration'.
There are also a number of other projects going on, including pint-sized piano star Jamie Cullum launching the second volume of his magazine The Eighty-Eight. Then you'll want to pay a visit to the pop up exhibition all about our uncanny relationship with brands like Warhol's favourite Campbell's soup, Coca-Cola ribbons and Starbucks sirens. These curious small show is both revealing and perhaps frightening. Japanese furniture company E&Y are also releasing their first pieces in Europe in the Design Museum atrium, where you'll find splendid editions from the HORIZONTAL multiple collection line.
If you haven't seen the Design Museum Life on Foot: Camper exhibition yet, now's a great time with a brand new series of walks exploring the city's hottest design locations and tours of the show. And of course there is the incredible Designs of the Year 2015 show on the top floor where some of the finest names and projects have gone head to head to battle it out. We fell head over heals for the self-driving Google car, but which is your favourite?
