Following the success of the West End production of The Gruffalo: Live (which returns to London this July following Culture Whisper's four start review) RAD is encouraging children to discover the family favourite story through dance, music, acting, make-up and storytelling.
Each workshop is run like a day in the life of a real dancer: children begin by warming up, creating imaginative material (inspired in this instance by everyone's favourite monster in the deep, dark wood), practice, working on their make-up and preparation and culminating in a performance for the group and their parents.
There are three workshops available for different age groups -- spaces still around for children aged 4-8.
Parents accompanying younger learners will have the opportunity to get involved in the dance workshop and help their children bring the book to life.
The Gruffalo: plot
We suggest making the most of this opportunity to delve into the world of Julia Donaldson's story, of a small mouse who goes through a walk in the deep, dark woods and must use her cunning to outwit the danger she finds at every turn.
Suitable for ages 2-8
