Don't miss the winter event offering a truly dynamic and magical start to your 2016 - Somerset House are welcoming in Le Patin Libre, the runaway dance success of Dance Umbrella 2014, the annual London dance festival.
The award-winning Canadian quintet are famous for their unique blend of technical skating skill and high-octane style. Not your average skating troupe, they draw influences from theatre, urban dance, tap and circus skills. This January they will be performing Vertical, the second half of the show first performed in Dance Umbrella 2014 which has been scoring highly across the board. The show received the Total Theatre & The Place Award for Dance earlier this year at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Past venues of Dance Umbrella have included a range of places, from the more traditional Sadler's Wells and Alexandra Palace to Smithfield Market. Don't miss the chance to see them at one of their best venues yet: Somerset House will beautifully offset the performance, which has been specially re-imagined to include electronic beats and a unique lighting design by Lucy Carter, the wizard behind countless Royal Ballet productions.
