Frame[d]: National Youth Dance Company/Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui

Frame[d] will see gifted young dancers drawn from across England take centre stage at Sadler’s Wells in a one-off performance.
Now in its third year and having completed two sold-out UK tours, National Youth Dance Company is establishing itself as an innovative and influential enterprise for the dancers of tomorrow.
Emerging artists are given the opportunity to perform in world-class venues; learn, create and perform original work; draw from a range of different dance techniques; and collaborate with professional choreographers.
Frame[d] is a captivating commission from Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, one of Europe’s most prolific choreographers and a Sadler's Wells Associate Artist.  He is also National Youth Dance Company’s current Guest Artistic Director. Cherkaoui has created more than 20 works, covering everything from contemporary dance and ballet to opera and musical theatre.
This piece revisits moments from Cherkaoui’s repertoire. His past works – Babel  (Words) co-choreographed with Damien Jalet; Puz/zle; Loin and TeZukA – have been reimagined, incorporating new ideas and movement material from the National Youth Dance Company’s inventive dancers.
