Simple + Healthy Matcha Squares Recipe
Boost concentration and satisfy cravings with sweet/salty no-bake matcha squares from our resident nutritionist
If you are looking for healthy snacks and love matcha powder, then you need to try these no-bake matcha bites. They have a unique sweet, salty and slightly bitter flavour, and are incredibly easy to make.
Matcha contains L-theanine, which heightens your mental acuity and promotes concentration, while also calming your nervous system.
INGREDIENTS
Makes 5-6 bars
50g almonds
50g cashews
50g oats
2 tsp organic matcha powder
1 tbsp coconut oil
3 tbsp brown rice syrup
METHOD
Blend the nuts and oats together until it makes a coarse flour.
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix either by hand or quickly in blender. Press the mixture into a tray lined with parchment paper to create a 1 cm (1/2 inch) thick bar. Using a large tray, I tend to double up the portions and still only fill half my tray.
Place them in the freezer for a few hours or overnight, then slice into squares. Store in an airtight container for up to a week in the fridge. Enjoy!
