Midnight Mass at St Paul's Cathedral is a centuries-old tradition that remains a true stalwart of the Christmas calendar. This stunning service in the capital's grandest cathedral sees a vast congregation welcome in Christmas Day under the iconic dome of Sir Christopher Wren's architectural masterpiece.
The event begins at 11.30pm on 24 December, and the Choir of St Paul's Cathedral will be joined by the potent presence of Barbican Brass , filling the beautiful candlelit Baroque interior with jubilant sounds celebrating the birth of Christ.
As the culmination of the Christmas services at St Paul's (as a guaranteed unforgettable experience) Midnight Mass is always extremely popular. We don't recommend it if you can't stand queuing!
Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and queues form very early, so come prepared with something to keep you entertained during the hours spent waiting. The helpful staff at St Paul's will be on hand from an early stage to inform those queuing whether they will, whether there is doubt, or whether it is unlikely they will get in.
Doors will open an hour before services start, or fifteen minutes earlier than this in the event of bad weather, and it is not possible to reserve seats, so make sure your party enters the Cathedral together.
We wish you the best of luck in gaining access to this unique and memorable event!
