Doors open at 6pm to enable the crowd to grab a bite to eat from the venues’ various fresh food tents, and The Bussey Building in Peckham and Roof East in Stratford will be mixing specially-themed cocktails to match the cinematic fare on offer. Although bringing your own food is prohibited, there are plenty of popcorn bites and sweet treats to tide you through the screenings
The films themselves are ranged from cult movies (The Big Lebowski, Withnail & I, Trainspotting), to cherished classics (Casablanca) to critically acclaimed recent releases (Selma, Birdman, The Theory of Everything). And if you’re feeling in the mood for an unpretentious night of pure entertainment, then the likes of classics such as Top Gun and Clueless ought to keep you happy. Audiences are given state-of-the-art wireless headphones to enjoy the big screen and settle down in the comfy seating. Note that films sell out fast so book your tickets as soon as you can!
Tickets will go quickly if last summer is anything to go by, so do make sure you stake out your spot for some cinema al fresco nice and early.
