Surely an experience not to be missed this summer, The Luna Cinema does precisely what it says on the tin, and sets up its screen under moonlight in a variety of stunning locations, from June to September.
We suspect that you might feel a little sorry to return to your local Odeon once you have enjoyed director Alfred Hitchcock’s classic thriller The Birds in the gardens that house the glorious Holland Park Opera, on the 14th of August (rain cover provided!). And how will you renounce the scent of flowers in your nostrils after an evening or two at the gorgeous botanical Kew Gardens, where director Alfonso Cuarón’s Academy Award success Gravity (2013) (starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney) will be showing on the 4th September, sandwiched by action classic Top Gun (2014) on the 5th and Baz Luhrmann’s iconic Romeo and Juliet (1996) on the 3rd?
Check out the array of country manor houses and castles, swimming pools, theatres and ruined abbeys detailed on the Luna website, and pick whichever takes your fancy. From contemporary Oscar winners, to 50s and 60s classics, there is something for everyone. Don't hang around though, tickets are sure to vanish quick.
