Best new books: April 2022
We’re excited about all the A-class fiction coming out in April, not least new novels from some of our favourite authors: Jennifer Egan, Pulitzer-winning author of the A Visit from the Goon Squad; NoViolet Bulawayo, Booker-shortlisted author of We Need New Names; Nina Stibbe, author of the hilarious Love, Nina; and Emily St. John Mandel, author of post-apocalyptic saga Station Eleven, now a TV series. And, for anyone who’s ever fancied the job of ‘muse’ but worried it sounds passive, Ruth Millington’s revolutionary history explodes all those tired myths.
We say lay in a batch of crème eggs, get out in that spring sunshine, and start reading.
