Ferrante is a secretive Italian author. Her novels celebrate women and their love for each other. She's best known for the much-loved Neopolitan Series, four novels which follow a friendship between two intelligent women in the violent world of their native Naples.
But when Ferrante was outed last year, and her true identity revealed, there were worries that she would never write again.
Instead, inspiringly, she seems to be going from strength to strength. She's just become The Guardian's new columnist. Look out for the 32-part television series of her famous works, currently in production.
