Frances Prescott, celebrity make-up artist and skincare expert
'As a make-up artist and facialist, whenever seasons change, there is usually some issue to deal with as a leftover from that previous season. I find this with models on shoots and my private clients who come to me for treatments.
With post-summer skin, the things that take their toll are exposure to UVA (even without the sun), chlorine in pools, pollution, and we generally tend to sweat more in summer, which can further aggravate and cause dryer skin.
I always recommend products to protect, soothe and repair skin, and these are some of my favourites;
I love the INKEY LIST Glucoside Serum, £11.99. It's full of antioxidants and great for calming and reducing redness and irritation. I love that it can be used morning and night under a chosen moisturiser, and I've found it improves the texture and skin tone. It's a great' treat' for any skin type, although they recommend it for sensitive, but I use it on my dry skin. And I highly recommend it for any skin type.
Another favourite to hydrate and repair skin is Beauty Pie Triple Hyaluronic Sheet Masks, £50 (member price, £20). I keep them in my professional make-up kit and have found them a great 'prep' for models travelling lots where skin can look tired and lacklustre. It's a great mask to plump and repair for dehydrated and a lovely 'at home' facial treat.
I discovered Katherine Daniels products this year and used their Pure Pigment Foundation Drops, £40, on my recent beauty/fashion shoot.
It's a gorgeous foundation and skin care product in one. It's soothing and calming for stressed skin. You can use the pigment drops alone as a concealer or mix it with their Daily Defence to create a lovely sheer foundation that protects from UVA, pollution and blue light damage. Don't be put off by needing to mix the two - I was sceptical - but it's worth it. It's a great product, and sometimes mix the pigment drops with my moisturiser … shhh, don't tell Katherine!'
