Fishdog
The self-appointed Rolls Royce of fish finger sandwiches, we would be hard pushed to disagree. With fresh battered fish served in fluffy buns with mushy peas and homemade mayonnaise, Fishdog knows how to jazz up a childhood favourite.
Spit & Roast
The rotisserie kings of East London, Spit & Roast won over the crowds with their buttermilk fried chicken. Their meat all comes from a local free-range butcher, and is served with their homemade Korean-inspired sauce.
The Grilling Greek
After years spent cooking in restaurants, The Grilling Greek decided to bring tried-and-tested family recipes to London’s street food scene. With fresh, filled pittas and juicy kalamata olives, choosing a favourite dish proves difficult. Their pork and halloumi souvlaki, however, is to suit all tastes.
The Bell & Brisket
This popular stand serves salt beef bagels and rye bread sandwiches, and has even won awards in the process. The beef brisket is brined for a week in a secret blend of spices, sugar, salt and saltpetre and then simmered for several hours. As you can imagine, the results are not to be missed.
Suzette Crepes
Head to Suzette Crepes for a taste of childhood holidays in northern France. Made by Karen, a native of Brittany - the spiritual home of the crepe - using flour from a family run mill in her hometown, only authentic French cheeses like Reblochon Fermier are used. Her homemade Grand-Marnier sauce is also something special.
