A new vision for a classic American brand
In the past year, Coach creative director Stuart Vevers has been bringing innovative energy into the American fashion brand, focusing on design longevity and anti-obsolescence concepts.
Vevers has been reviving past styles from the brands’ archive, ‘recycling’ pieces from previous collections and re-issued garments and accessories he felt deserved a second wind.
The result is one of the most compelling ideas of fashion’s future: up-cycled bags from the ’70s alongside classic pieces revisited, dresses that look like an old hand-me-down and crochet jumpers.
Amongst our favourite pieces is the Coach Pillow Tabby bag, reimagined from the structured silhouette of an archival 1970s design with ultra-soft pillowy leather. We also love the Dinky 18 bag, inspired by the minimalist crossbody bag that was first introduced in 1973.
