Clare Milford Haven, the 58-year-old British aristocrat is a brand ambassador for JK7 skincare and Jaeger-LeCoultre, a mother to two children and two stepchildren, and an active polo player for the past 20 years. Clare also runs a charity in memory of her eldest son, which raises awareness of anxiety, depression, and suicide amongst young people, and recently opened a centre in Liverpool, called James’ Place. She reveals the beauty and wellness people she has on speed dial, her favourite spaces in London and how she keeps sane in the city...
Velveteen Salon
What beauty experts do you have on speed dial? My facialist is Emma at Grace, Belgravia using JK7 Luxurious Natural Skincare products. For manicures, I go to Yogeeta at Velveteen because I can have my manicure done at the same time as my hair.Grace Belgravia Spa & Wellness
Favourite London spa? Grace, Belgravia because it is the ultimate city spa for women and has the latest treatments and products. The food is super healthy and delicious, and there is plenty of room to sit quietly and work without being distracted.
Where do you buy beauty? I tend to purchase from either Space NK or Charlotte Tilbury from Peter Jones. I’m not big at buying online unless I know exactly what I want. At both Space NK and Charlotte Tilbury in Peter Jones, you can try the products, which I prefer.C Press Juices
Which juice bar / caffeine haunt do you rely on? C Press around the corner from my flat on the Fulham Road is my favourite juice and coffee place.JK7 Luxurious Natural Skincare
Your skincare regime? Is very simple because it is all JK7. Every morning I apply a few drops of JK7 Rejuvenating Serum Lotion, followed by the very soothing Vanilla and Rose Day Face Lotion. At night, I wash my face with the delicious smelling Lemon and Lime Eye and Face Make-Up Remover, followed by a few drops of Golden Face Oil.Polo playing
Favourite way to work up a sweat? I work out with a personal trainer twice a week, but my ideal exercise is Polo, which I have been playing for the past 20 years, both here in the UK and internationally.Secret spot to get some air? Not very secret, but Battersea Park has always been a favourite park in London having lived next to it when my children were small, so I have very fond memories of it.
And where you find peace & quiet in London? My flat in Chelsea! It is super quiet and the bedrooms back onto a garden so I always find it incredibly peaceful staying there.
What’s your idea of bliss? My idea of happiness is being in the company of those people I love; laughing and feeling safe and warm, like in a cocoon.
Escale à Portofino by Dior
Fragrance: Love or loathe? Love! My scent Escale à Portofino by Dior – it has a fresh, citrus smell that seems to suit my skin and I am often asked what it is.
Any alternative beauty treatments? The wear and tear of playing polo over the past 20 years have necessitated looking at alternative health treatments, and I occasionally have a mixture of acupuncture, cranial osteopathy, and sports massages.
Altrient Liposomal Vitamin C & Jacob Hooy Cannabis Oil at Holland & Barrett
Any wellness potions in your medicine cabinet? I take a daily dose of Altrient C, Vitamin D, a natural Thyroid supplement and some bio-identical hormones. I also have some Cannabis Oil that calms me down if I’m feeling a little hectic...
How do stay sane in the city? By not spending too much time there! My permanent home is a farm in West Sussex, and I am only in the town a couple of days a week so I manage to stay sane by working hard when I’m there and then escaping back to the country as soon as I can.
When travelling, what do you miss about London? I think that London is very civilised and public transport is relatively safe and easy allowing you to move around the city without horrendous traffic jams and smog. Often when I travel to other cities, I miss the sophistication of London and the village atmosphere of many of its boroughs.
