THE AESTHETIC APPROACH
Instant tricks to disguise the signs of a late night
Eye drops are essential in perking up tired peepers. Backstage during fashion week models carry Visine, £8.29, to erase redness and bloodshot eyes in super-quick time. Lining the eyes with a flesh-coloured pencil can open them up, too – try Benefit Roller Eye Bright Pencil, £16.50.

London make-up artist, Daniel Sandler, recommends perking up your skin with these:

Alcohol is dehydrating and negatively affects skin’s moisture levels, but you can counteract this by applying a base that contains moisturising ingredients such as hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate. We love The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid, £5.90. Next, apply the simply brilliant Sarah Chapman Skinesis Morning Facial, £52, an oil-meets-serum product that leaves skin looking healthy and radiant as though you've just had a facial rather than a big night out.

This Korean-inspired gadget delivers a turbo-charged dose of caffeine, vitamin B and hyaluronic acid via a vibrating and cooling wand tip and is instant refreshment for eyes: Eyeko Eye Boost Serum, £40. For a serious boost, keep the Valmont Eye Instant Stress Relieving Mask, £39 in the fridge.

MAKE-UP MASTERY
Always opt for lighter and more luminising make-up textures and a good blusher as your secret weapons. Here’s what you should choose for your skin tone, all by Danial Sandler:Melanin-rich and black skin tones, try: Watercolour Crème Blush in Hot pink, £16.50Pale and fair skin tones, try: Watercolour Liquid Blush in Rose Glow, £16.50

THE FITNESS GURU APPROACH
Nutritionist & Fitness Instructor, Cassandra Barns

Having a decent breakfast will help to replace some of the lost nutrients that your body used to detoxify the alcohol. Eggs contain sulphur, which may aid the liver's detoxification process, and carbohydrate-rich foods such as wholegrain toast may boost your blood sugar levels.

Try some exercise. The movement of yoga will help to increase blood flow to all parts of your body including, importantly, your liver. The more blood that passes through it, the quicker your liver can process the alcohol. Running will get your blood circulating and will help speed up detoxification. The sweating will help to eliminate the toxins through your skin. However, sweating can make the problem of dehydration worse, so ensure that you drink plenty of water at the same time.

IF ALL ELSE FAILS, DIAL A DOCTOR

The IV Doc ™ delivers a vitamin-infused medical treatment to alleviate the sickness, pounding head and general grimness of a hangover in your home, work or hotel room in London. One litre of Vitamin Therapy is equivalent to drinking around 3.8 litres of water and is administered by a medical practitioner. Revive IV Hydration Therapy £339, is the ultimate hangover cure – also known as the Deathbed Relief – includes all three IV medications to tackle nausea, heartburn, aches and pains.
