Best feminine wash, luxury lubricants and sensual products to bring joy
The best in clean lubricants, intimate and sensual products and feminine washes
Feminine washes and sexual lubricants used to be taboo – but there's a pleasure revolution happening with products that are clean formulations, look good on your bedroom side table and are super luxurious to use. Others even come with added CBD-infused benefits and cleansers that ensure hygiene doesn't compromise good health.
Why now? Dr Dmitry Loktionov and Kate Tikhomirova are the Founders of Quanna, a new CBD sexual health and wellness company. They've launched Oomf – an all-natural, gynaecologist-approved, clean lube.
They say, 'For too long, women have been playing catch-up when it comes to sex. Where the "orgasm gap" has grown to become a recognised cultural issue because penetration and clitoral stimulation aren't viewed as "equal" sex acts. It's deeply ingrained culturally in the way we talk about sex. The lightbulb moment was how the Trojan horse of "wellness" can be the step in the right direction to get women's sexual pleasure into mainstream consciousness.'
They are indeed opening the doors of this new sexual revolution – and their CBD-infused range may be just the key. Loktionov says, 'CBD has been shown to have vasodilatory effects, meaning it can help promote blood flow to the areas to which it is applied. With increased blood flow, plus enhanced sensitivity coupled with reduced anxiety and pain sensation, we can suggest that CBD, through the Endocannabinoid system, can help more people achieve orgasm easier and reach that peak quicker.'
Another company that is not beating around the bush is the no-nonsense Roam. A clean sexual health brand that the founders Alex Griffiths and Ben Taylor describe as 'a pleasure to buy, use and own.'
They've also seen the sexual tide turning: 'The wellness category has been adopted in the hearts and minds of consumers. We believe that this is accounting for some of the behavioural shift.'
The wellness industry is worth billions, and next-gen vibrators and sexual health products are at the forefront of this new radical shift – the market is set to grow globally and to reach over £30 billion by 2025, according to MarketDataForecast.
So, this coming together of industries is quite a natural fit. Add the pandemic into the mix, where Taylor says, 'Data has shown us that sales within the sexual care category have steadily risen over the last few years.'
Being locked up with nothing much to do seems to have sparked our interest in investing more in bedroom pursuits with a partner or self-pleasure.
He adds, 'We've experienced first hand an opening-up of sexual conversation from consumers. The narrative is finally shifting toward sharing experiences for everyone to understand better what makes them tick. Our vision is that this will help to bring about a new wave of sexual literacy that goes beyond performance and brings about a more sex-positive world.'
We're saying yes (yes, yes) to that.
