Belgian multi-disciplinary artist and playwright Jan Fabre has never been one to keep his head below the parapet. Whether he's burning money, renaming the street on which he lives 'Jan Fabre Street', covering an entire building in ballpoint pen doodles, or hurling cats up stairs and receiving subsequent death-threats (only Dalí is allowed to throw cats) - his art and practice demand attention.

Considered one of Belgium's foremost creators, Fabre was the first living artist to see his works exhibited at the Louvre in Paris. His art and performances draw on themes of sex, death and the body; both human and animal. This February will see Fabre's first UK solo show at Mayfair's Ronchini Gallery. Beetles, rather than airborne cats, will be taking on the lead role in Knight of the Night, which is all to do with metamorphosis, death and alchemy.

We'll see human-skulls, jewelled with iridescent beetle-wings, with magpies, whips or keys in their jaws. Suits of armour flash with the blues reds and greens of a thousand wing cases, while Fabre's trademark Bic-pen drawings will plunge you into their inky, submarine world.

Come and discover these beguiling works.
