Northern Lights: Aberdeen Art Gallery at the Fleming Collection

Star Scottish artists take centre stage at Fleming Collection exhibition of masterpieces from Aberdeen Art Gallery

This smashing exhibition at the Fleming Collection in Mayfair spotlights some of the star attractions of the Aberdeen Art Gallery, which is currently undergoing major renovations. Some of our favourite Scottish masters get centre stage in this show, including Scottish portrait painters George Jamesone and Allan Ramsay. Aberdeen locals John Philip, William Dyce, and contemporary mover and shaker Calum Innes are also stellar additions to the proceedings, as they shed light on the talent coming out of Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen.
Highlights
Particular works to make a beeline for include J.M.W Turner's accomplished watercolour Caerlaverock Castle in Dumfriesshire, made during one of his six visits to Scotland, and famous architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh's flower study.
These intimate and delicate works are well worth a visit if you are wandering through the maze of galleries in Mayfair.
