Canadian artist Jon Rafman is like a kid in a sweet shop when it comes to technology. He's already created a virtual hotel room for the Miami Beach Fair 2014 and scrolled through thousands of overlooked Google Street View images to pixelate moments of beauty, from a skinny-dipper in Italy to a man sleeping in a pickup truck in rural Canada.

Rafman is part of that band of post-internet artists that grew up surrounded by video games. Originally part of the DIY online collective Paint FX which created a digital aesthetic using tools like Photoshop and ArtRage, Rafman has graduated to his own solo exhibitions at the Musée d'Art Contemporain, Montreal, and London's Zabludowicz Collection.
Rafman's work explores the boundaries of human consciousness and technology, particularly when it comes to online communities. Video games, internet memes and virtual landscapes all occupy his imagination. Think of Jon Rafman art kicking the click of the early camera shutter into high gear, upgrading 20th century street photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson.
