Summer Exhibition, Alan Cristea
Alan Cristea gallery boasts a spectacular roster of international artists for Summer Exhibition in Mayfair
One of our favourite spots in the maze of Mayfair galleries is Alan Cristea, which has been making waves since it was founded in 1995 as the largest producer of prints in Europe. An expert on Matisse and Picasso, Alan Cristea now represents some of the most influential artists around such as Rachel Whiteread, Cornelia Parker and ceramics magician Edmund de Waal.
Alan Cristea London exhibition
For the Alan Cristea gallery Summer Exhibition, you'll find new editions and classic works from a stellar roster of artists on display, including colourful creative Polly Apfelbaum, Michael Craig-Martin (Summer Exhibition mastermind for the Royal Academy currently) and Turner Prize nominated abstract painter Gillian Ayres. We'll also be on the look out for prints by Pop Art superstar Roy Lichtenstein, British Land Art royalty Richard Long and Op art trailblazer Bridget Riley. But the real jewel in the crown are the works by Howard Hodgkin: the largest print he has ever made titled As Time Goes By (Orange) (2009-14) and his most recent print, practically still wet from the studio, For Antony (2015).
The array of starry names at Alan Cristea is remarkable and in the quiet surroundings of Cork Street there is plenty of space to enjoy the masterpieces in this London contemporary art exhibition.
