Chisenhale's latest exhibition by Kurdish artist Ahmet Öğüt is another fine example of the gallery’s programme of unexpected and innovative shows. Amsterdam-based Öğüt, whose practice grapples with complex social issues ranging from migration to civil unrest with a good dose of humour, typically works with a range of collaborators from outside of the art world.

For the Chisenhale show, Happy Together: Collaborators Collaborating, the Öğüt has put together a highly experimental exhibition involving a number of people that he has already collaborated with. The show sees the east London gallery transformed into a specially constructed TV studio to stage and subsequently screen the filmed public discussion between the collaborators.
Who are the collaborators?
Ten collaborators of various nationalities and professions – including an auctioneer, a firefighter, a hairdresser, a stuntman, a lip reader and a sports caster – will collectively generate a new idea for an artwork on behalf of the artist. To welcome the collaborators, Öğüt will open the project with a performance of the concert Reverb with the band Fino Blendax (Bora Akıncıtürk, Serhan Arcağ and Deniz Belendir).
Venture to east London this spring and catch Ahmed Öğüt's curious exhibition where artistic collaboration is at its best.
