Chris Levine: The Geometry of Truth, The Fine Art Society
The Fine Art Society stages a mesmerising show of work by visionary light artist Chris Levine
Artist Chris Levine presents a new body of work at London’s Fine Art Society which makes light the centre of human experience and art.
Chris Levine | Lightness of Being
Levine is best known for his iconic holographic portrait of the Queen, Lightness of Being (2004), as well as his eclectic collaborations for The Eden Project and the stage lighting for Massive Attack’s thrilling 2008 Glastonbury performance. He works with numerous light mediums such as laser, photography, light boxes and holograms across multiple platforms, from performance and installation to fashion and design.
Fine Art Society exhibition
For his FAS show, Levine has continued the exploration of light and perception, using colour, form and frequency to bring the viewer into a meditative kind of stillness. Drawing on the mathematical patterns and cycles of sacred geometry, Levine discovers the capacity of laser light to elicit subliminal responses in the viewer. Expect to be drawn in and enveloped by hypnotic waves of colour as they move through the room.
And for those that can’t get enough of Levine’s light magic, the artist will be putting on a large-scale immersive and interactive installation in the Cello Factory in Waterloo in June.
