Ali Banisadr painting
Occupying a surreal midpoint between frenzied chaos and ominous calm, the works of artist Ali Banisadr will seize your imagination. The swirling, semi-human shapes seem to coalesce and blur between blinks of the eye so that at times it is necessary to remind yourself that you’re looking at a static painting.
Ali Banisadr biography
The struggling figures and warring shapes of Ali Banisadr art echo the artist’s past. After spending the first twelve years of his life in Tehran, Banisadr was forced to leave with his family during the Iran-Iraq war and travel to the United States, where he still lives today.
Blain Southern exhibition
At Once at Blain Southern London gallery will be Banisadr’s first solo exhibition in the UK despite his success in group-shows worldwide. It will feature a seven-metre long triptych, his largest ever piece, as well as a fully illustrated catalogue.
