New Contemporaries showcases the cream of the Art School crop - so pay attention, these guys are gonna be big

Exhibitions come and go, but the Bloomberg New Contemporaries show at the Institute of Contemporary Arts has been on the scene for well over half a century.

A tried and tested litmus test of emerging talent, the exhibition showcases the rising stars amongst final year art students, graduates and practising professionals up to one year out of education. Past selections tipped for success have included Jake & Dinos Chapman, Tacita Dean, Mona Hatoum, Damien Hirst, David Hockney, Mike Nelson and Laure Provost.

The group show brings together 45 artists working across a range of media with traditional techniques and materials used alongside digital applications and processes. Themes in this year’s works include; mass-production, socio-economics, gender equality and cultural identity. The resulting exhibition is both a social commentary and an indication of the preoccupations of a generations.
